Mrs. Anne Knott Smith, 90, a former resident of the Samples Road went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning at Molena Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Smith was born December 11, 1927 in Wedowee Alabama, the daughter of the late George Allen & Pearl Clark Knott. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Grayhill Church of God. In earlier years she was a Children’s Ministry Director, Sunday School teacher, church van driver, and Missionette’s leader at First Assembly of God in LaGrange among many other roles. She loved reading her Bible teaching Bible studies, and bringing children to know the love of Jesus. Anne was a retired employee of West Georgia Medical Center and a former employee of Callaway Mills Company. After retirement she cared for children and the elderly, staying active and touching lives for as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Lee Smith, Jr. and brother and sisters, Sara, Betty, Romell, Claude, Carlos and Sherill.
Survivors include Sons & Daughters-in-law: Jerry Wayne & Cristy Rambo Smith, West Point; Georgia, James Thomas & Marie Herndon Smith, LaGrange, Georgia; and Ricky Joe & Dena Ring Smith, LaGrange, Georgia.
8 Grandchildren and spouses: Shelia (Johnny) Matthews; Lynn (Rodney) O’Dell;
Jennifer (Gabe) Cody, Adam Smith; Jessica (Christopher) Adams; Josh Smith;
Cheralyn Smith; and Olivia Smith.
12 Great Grandchildren: Connor and Chloe Matthews; Jacob and Kaitlyn Floyd, Emily and Nathan O’Dell; Korbin, Presley, and Camryn Cody; Evie Smith; and Jayden and Journey Adams.
And 3 Great Great Grandchildren: Cayde Casey and Lillianne and Liam Floyd.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Anne Knott Smith will be held at 3:00P.M. Saturday from the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with The Reverend Steve Comer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 2PM thru 3PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
